Meals-on-Wheels
Delivering More Than a Meal
Oak Grove volunteers partner with the Person County Senior Center to deliver nutritious, hot meals to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are provided Monday through Friday. Each day, volunteers pick up meals from the Senior Center in insulated bags, deliver them to the six individuals on Oak Grove’s route, and return the bags to the Senior Center.
A Simple Gift. A Meaningful Connection
For our volunteers, delivering a meal is about much more than food. It is an opportunity to offer a friendly smile, a caring conversation, and a reminder that someone in the community cares.
For some recipients, the volunteer who delivers their meal may be the only person they see that day—or even for several days. The smiles, gratitude, and warm welcomes we receive are a beautiful reminder of how a simple act of kindness can make a lasting difference.
This ministry also helps homebound individuals remain safely and independently in their own homes, potentially delaying the need for a move to a care facility.

Christian Help Center Meals
Serving Our Community One Meal at a Time
Once a month, Oak Grove volunteers prepare and serve a hot meal at the Christian Help Center Soup Kitchen.
Our church currently has six volunteer teams that share this ministry, allowing each team to serve only about twice a year. Together, we provide a warm, welcoming meal and an opportunity to serve our neighbors with kindness and compassion.
Our meals typically include meat, two vegetables, bread, and dessert.
Love Served Around the Table
Volunteers prepare the food in their homes, bring it to the Christian Help Center, and help serve the meal.
Whether you're an experienced cook or simply enjoy preparing food for others, this is a wonderful way to share your time and talents. More than a meal, it is an opportunity to connect with people, build community, and put our faith into action.
Want to Help?
